This is a plan review covering the alterations to the above <br /> existing building. This review is based on the regulations <br /> of the Oregon State Structural Specialty Code ('97 UBC) <br /> 1998 Edition, <br /> <br /> 7. OCCUPANCY CLASSIFICATION. <br /> The TENANT IMPROVEMENT space is classified as a Group R, <br /> Division 8 Occupancy, dwelling unit (caretaker residence). <br /> <br /> 8, OCCUPANCY SEPAP. ATION. (OSSC Sec 202.4i <br /> A one-hour fire-resistive occupancy separation shall be <br /> provided between the R-2 Dwelling Unit and the existing <br /> S-5 Aircraft Hangar. <br /> A one-hour fire-resistive occupancy separation shall be of <br /> less than one-hour fire-resistive construction. <br /> All openings in such separation shall be protected by a <br /> fire assembly having a one-hour fire-protection rating, <br /> Where the occupancy separation is horizontal, structural <br /> members supporting the separation shall be protected by <br /> equivalent fire-resistive construction, <br /> <br />9. TYPE OF CONSTRUCTION. (OSSC Sec 603.1i <br /> The existing building has been classified as TYPE tI-N <br /> CONSTRUCTION. therefore, materials used shall be as follows: <br /> * Structural Elements - noncombustible materials. <br /> * Floors - noncombustible materials, provided however, that <br /> a wood surface or finish may be applied over <br /> such noncombustible materials, <br /> * Walls & Permanent Partitions - noncombustible materials. <br /> <br />10. PROVIDE APPROVED ASSEMBLY DOCUMENTATION, <br /> The plans submitted proposed the steel tube columns support- <br /> ing the the floor/ceiling assembly will be wrapped with <br /> 5/8" Type X gypsum board to comply with the one-hour <br /> fire-resistive occupancy separation construction. <br /> <br /> PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION SPECIFYING THAT THE PROPOSED <br /> ASSEMBLY HAS BEEN TESTED AND APPROVED THROUGH RECOGNIZED <br /> STANDARDS.
