Other activities such as logging, excavating or filling, driveway placement or any similar activities may also damage the soil in the area and adversely affect the septic system approval, The areas of the initial septic system and the future repair system must both be protected. THIS SYSTEM MUST BE INSPECTED AND APPROVED PRIOR TO BACKFILL When work is complete and ready for inspection, call our Automated Inspection Request line at 373-4427 to request an inspection. Enter the number "801" for a PRE-COVER inspec- tion. You may leave a message for the inspector if desired. Be sure the System Record form with the As-Built drawing is on the job or in our office when the inspection is requested An inspection should be completed within seven (7) days. An EFFLUENT LIFT PUMP WILL BE REQUIRED to install the septic system disposal field in the approved area and at the required depth. Detailed instructions for dosing tank / effluent pump installations are available in our office. The electrical wiring to the pump and alarm must be installed in accordance with the appropriate Electrical Code, The elec- trical work must be done under a Marion County Electrical Permit and must be inspected and approved by a Marion County Electrical Inspector. The work must be left uncovered and accessible for inspection.The electrical inspection includes the connections to the pump and alarm in the dosing tank,the wiring in the trench and the connections in the structure. A CURTAIN DPJ~IN IS REQUIRED as part of this system, The curtain drain trench must be constructed a mimimum twelve (12) inches wide by 42" inches deep with 36" inches of clean gravel placed over a four (4) inch. smooth wall, perforated pipe. The curtain drain must be located at least ten (10) feet upslope from the disposal field and must discharge through a watertight non-perforated pipe beside or below the disposal field. A minimum separation of ten (10) feet is required from the septic tank if the tank is located upslope of the curtain drain and five (5) feet if the tank is located downslope of the curtian drain. A DETAILED SEPTIC SYSTEM STAKEOUT IS REQUIRED prior to the issuance of a septic system installation permit, The area for the system is very limited and the stakeout must be com- pleted to determine that the system will fit within the area of the approved test pits, A scale-drawn, detailed site plan must be submitted with the application for the install- ation permit. The stakeout must be inspected on the property and approved before the permit can be issued, Instructons for the stakeout are attached and are available in our office.
