However~ additional +arm dwellings must be shown to be necessary for the manaoement of a commercial farm operation. I"hm property is located on the north and south eide of Arndt Road, approximately two miles east o~ ~utteville. fhe 20 acres north of the road is ~armed and contains the applicant's residence. The 50 acres south of the road is farmed and contains the farm outbuildings. Surrounding uses are primarily commercial farming operations. I'he Soil Conservation ~ervice has identified predominantly Class Il soils on ~he property. fhe applicant proposes to locate a mobile home on the eouth side o~ the road hex to the farm outbuildings. The mobile home would be occupied by the foreman of the applicant's overall farm operation. /he County F'uOlic Works Department has no objections to the propomal, rhe Building inspection Division comments moDile home, septic site evaluation, and septic permits are required for the proposal. in order to approve an additional farm related dwelling in an EF~ zone, it must be demonstrated that l) the property Ls in farm use and constitutes a commercial farm enterprise~ 2) the ~arm operation reduires that the occupants of the proposed dwelling rem~de on the farm~ and ~) all dwellings will be occupied by residents who will perform a siqnificant amount of farm work throuohout the year. The applicants state they farm a total of ~0+ acres including the subject property, 40 additional acres owned near Butteville. and leased land. The farm operation includes bush beans, sweet corn, Oroccoli, cauliflower, grass seed, sugar beet seed, and wheat. The applicants state in the winter their foreman corks 4(; hours per week; and in the spring, summer, and fail months he works 80 - 100 hours per week on the farm operation, lhe foreman's responsibilities include maintenance of the farm machinery~ driving tractors and trucks, supervision of farm crews, changing irrigation equipment, etc. The applicant~ state there are no apartments in the vicinity, and the foreman needs to be at the farm headquarter~ to watch over the barns, ~hop~ and equipment to deter ~uture thefts. Also, he is needed to instantly respond to calls to drive trucks to the fields du~ing harvest season. The applicants manage the overall farm operation. Based on the evidence, the subject property is a commercial farm operation and two residences are justi~ied~
