FOUNDATION ENGINEERING

4 May 1983.

Mr, Jack Isberg
12704 Ehlen Rd., N.E,
Aurora, OR 97002

Project P-127

Isberg R.V. Park

Dear Mr, Isberg:

We have completed the foundation investigation requested by your architect,
Mr. Richard Webb, for the proposed expansion of the Isberg R.V, ParE. Our
findings and recommendations are summarized below.

Background

Preliminary plans provided by Mr. Webb indicate that you plan to build a
conven)ence store and a fuel island at the Isberg R.V. Park, located on

Ehlen Road at the I-5/Aurora interchange. We understand that the convenience
store will be a single story structure with slab-on-grade, framed construc-
tion. The fuel island will include construction of a 36 by 66 foot canopy
which will be supported by four piers. Footing loads for each pier have
been estimated to be about 20 kips.

The purpose of our work was to provide recommendations for site preparation
and foundation construction of the convenience store and fuel island.

Subsurface Exploration and Site Conditi.ons

We dug three exploratory test pits cn the site on 2 May using a tractor-mounteJ
backhoe. Test Pit 1 was dug near the northeastern corner of the proposed
convenience store. Test Pit 2 was dug near the midpoint of the southern wall.

James K, Maitland PhD., P.E., 3930 N.W. Titlicum Place, Corvallis, OR 97330 503/757-7645
