Dick will then amend the technical drawings to ensure that the concepts
devised by Terry will be fully supported by the wiring, conduits, and other hardware that will
be put in place by the CHZ contractors. Dick's drawings will be provided to you for your
review and final concurrence. The drawings would then go to Leonard for inclusion in the
construction documents.
Some of the specific issues we discussed that are going to be incorporated in the work done
by Terry and Dick included:
• complete preemption of the upstream intersections by the CHZ signalization system
• the addition of conduit/cable from CH2 to the controllers at the Chemeketa/H'igh and
Court/Church intersections
• location of the video detectors at the appropriate height on the superstructure, and
targeted to the optimum location for bus movement
• specification of the correct cable connecting the video detectors to the operating system
• placement of conduit/cable directly across the streets from CH2 to the transit signals,
rather than to-and-from the intersections (to resolve voltage drop concerns)
• signage at the driveways points on High St. and Church St., alerting vehicles exiting those
points of the bus conflicts (Leonard's issue--not part of Dick's or Terry's work)
It was presumed by all in attendance that the existing construction document drawings as
contained in the bid package would not need to be changed by an addendum to the bid.
