BEFORE THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR MA1tION COUNTY, UREGON . <br />In the matter of authorizing the loan of ) <br />funds from the Department of Solid Waste j <br />Management to Marion County <br />Department of General Services for the ) <br />purpose of the Courthouse Square Development. ) ~ ~J <br />RE L I I~~~ ~ ~~ <br />This matter comes before the Board of Commissioners at a regular public meeting on <br />Wednesday, October 29, 1997, to consider authorizing an extension of the loan of funds from the <br />Department of Solid Waste Management to the Marion County Department of General Services <br />for the development of Courthouse Square. <br />WF-IEREAS, the Department of Solid Waste Management has agreed to loan money for <br />the development of Courthouse Square and the Department of General Services has agreed to <br />reimburse the amount borrowed. <br />WHEREAS; ORS 294.460 allows the Board of Commissioners to allocate Solid Waste <br />Management funds, as a loan, with said loan to be repaid (including interest) over a specific length <br />of time, and the budgetary authorization be granted each fiscal year for the repayment of any <br />outstanding principal and interest; now therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Marion County Board of Commissioners that the Department <br />of Solid Waste Management funds in the amount not to exceed $5,000,000 be made available <br />from the Department of Solid Waste Management's budget, to the Department of General <br />Services for the development of the Courthouse Square. <br />BE IT FURTI-~R RESOLVED that the Board recognizes a need for the Department of <br />General Services to borrow the money for the development of Courthouse Square; and the loaned <br />funds will be returned to the Department of Solid Waste Management's fund from which it was <br />borrowed, by the end of the loan agreement. <br />RESOLUTION -1 <br />Courthouse Square <br />
