Human Resources: Septemher 30, I 99C • The most impoitant need in Human Resources is ptivacy; acoustical and visual. • The 2 ~naly~ts and the manager require a~rivate office for coniidential matter~, acoustic and ~~isual. • General office staff are an-anged in an open o~ce plan ~~-hich works very well as there is a need for interaction and e~change of infoimation. • Again there are issues ~~~ith the tiling, ~ontidentiality and storage. • The existing furnishings 1re blue and cranbeny ~a~ith oak trim and ~~~ill be moving. Ueliveries are 3-4 times a week which, items are ,torcd and redistriUuted to dcPt.'s (health etc.) Can he ~tored right at delivery area with adequate securit~~. • Heavy equipment, some could be con~lidate;d (2 mailing machines). Equipment come~ segmented so i; not a prablem moving. • Work space ~+~ould ~~~ork hetier as largc ~~~r<~p arc~und counter, not desk. • Ca~pet is essential to rcducc ne»~e: hut consider type and placement becau.~ of ink~ and machineqr. • Humidit~~, lighting, noise and ~~entilation arc all extremel~~ important in this area. The department is using sPecialized eyuipment, inks and is storing targe ~mount~~ of paper. • Plenly of ~vorkspace (tables) is e~sentiul for the printing process. • It ~vould be helptut to have a:afety station and a cleanup area for the inl:s etc. (water based) • [t is impo~tant to make note of the h~res of equipment us~ in this space. Forklifts for moving supplies; paper ete., the machinery itself, and the noi:e it makes. Make sure doors etc. can accommociate equipment. Housing Authorit~~: • The lobby area for housing is e~tremely busy and must acc;ommodate large groups of people, (families with children). There are appro~imatel~~ 30-4U people in the room at once. Could use a~pace for children. • The reception counter in this area must he locked and has some securi _ty issues with the lobby space. The noise fi~om the lobby area needs to be isolated. • A small conference area ti~r apProximately G-$ e~i~ts no~v but dces not seem to be sut~icient space. • Breal:room? • Files: Again there are 20+ files (4 dra~i~er vertical) along with 3 storage units. There is an additional back room far more tiles and storage. The rec;ycling bins are also located in this space. • A maintenance area is necessarv for the tieid people. They are in vans all day and have some storage needs for equipment etc. • There are 12 shelves of manuals and 20+ boxes on the floor. (some files in Archives) • Office is open plan with blue and oak ~vall dividers that will be moving. z t6 )
