The impact rhis will have on small businesses such a~ ours wi.ll be <br />devastating_ Our customers are, for the most part, not ~ass -~ransit riders, <br />and quite simply, if they don't par~ they don't come. <br />As we observed with the closing off of the east Chu~rch Street spaces <br />for the newspaper building site last year, most often it was t~ie construction <br />workers pickups that were parked there. Although we understand their need <br />to bave ready access, many of them just parked all d.ay on si~te. Perhaps <br />these employees should receive bus passes instead of remotring some sixty <br />spaces right downtown. <br />We respectfully ask you to consider closing just two s~ides of the block <br />at a rimc as construction permits.
