* Membership: Each subcommittee will contain 8-12 members. At least two members <br />will also serve on Facility Steering Committee. <br />* Staff Support: Support to subcommittees will be provided by staff from the <br />departments who serve the 7 program areas. <br />March 94 <br />* Kickoff: A public presentation will be made to the Board of Commissioners on <br />March 9th. The presentation will summarize the Consultants (WEGroup) report, <br />outline time lines, issues, review process, and solicit citizen/staff involvement. <br />* Information and Support: Presentations will be made to employees. Regular <br />updates will be reported in the "Visions Newsletter". Reports will also be made at <br />monthly Community/Board meetings and other public settings. Other affected <br />governmental agencies wifl also be informed as needed. <br />* Community Interest: The Board, in conjunction with an interim staff committee, <br />will identify potential committee members. <br />* Public Information: News media will be informed regularly. Discussions <br />will take place with daily and weekly newspaper reporters and editorial boards. <br />Electronic media interviews will be pursued via news releases. <br />A ril 94 <br />* Committee Appoinhnents: The Board receives recommendations from staff and <br />other interest groups regarding appointments to Steering Committee and six <br />subcommittees. <br />* Orientation: A workshop will be scheduled for all committee participants. The <br />workshop will provide participants with an understanding of their committee <br />responsibilities, schedules, and background data. Committee members will also be <br />given an opportunity to give feedback on the citizen/staff review process. <br />* Committee Operations: Committee meeting dates, chair/facilitation, and staff <br />support roles will be defined. <br />May-Sentember 94 <br />* Final Report: Committees will review data, space needs, cost options, service levels <br />and growth criteria. Status reports will be provided to steering committee, other <br />interest groups, and news media. A final recommendation will be transmitted to the <br />Board by September 1994. The recommendation(s) will include a strategy for <br />providing new, remodeled or leased facilities, a proposed time schedule, financing <br />plans and supporting documentation (needs assessment). <br />
