<br />The cost of owning appears to be less expensive than leasing. <br />It was noted that some costs are not now figured into the <br />e_ costs of owning, eg. sinking fund costs are not included in <br />the buildings owned by the County. , <br />ADA standards are not met by many downtown buildings. The <br />County will in effect be paying that cost and the improvements <br />may still not meet the County requirements. . <br />Not having control over the space leaves the County in a less <br />secure position, ie. change in ownership could result in loss <br />of space should the new owner wish to use the building for <br />other purposes. <br />Renovation will still be required for the Franklin-building. <br />It was mentioned that a plan will be needed to deal with the <br />residents of the Senator Building when it is torn down. We~have no <br />information on what possibilities exist for relocation. <br />We are on schedule. <br />The Sub-Committee adjourned <br />
