Plan Options
Plan A: Maintains and renovates existing building inventory. Growth of general
government offices is accomodated through leases, (94,045 NSF). New
construction is required for Detox, Adult Residential, Juvenile, . and Correc-
tions, (91,433 GSF). Options include replacing leased space wi[h new
construction.
Cost Estimate: $38 million
Plan B: The Counry will sell the Franklin, and demolish the Senator building. The
Beri and Ticor buildings may be displaced by a new Public Service building,
(161,301 GSF). The Courthouse would be renovated to accomodate new court
facilities and upgraded security. ~
New construction will also be required to accommodate Dog control, OSU
Extension, Detox, Adult Residen[ial, and Archives, (40,873 GSF). The
Health, Juvenile, and Corrections facilities will be expanded, (99,379 GSF).
Additional downtown parking would be required to accommodate 588 vehicles.
CosC Estimate: $60 million
Plan C: This option is similar to plan B; however, the public service building is
smaller, (85,385 GSF). The key element of this plan is the relocation of the
Criminal Courts to a new facility on the Corrections campus,(86,181 GSF).
General government and non-criminal courts would continue to occupy the
Courthouse. The Franklin Building would be retained for 10 years and then
sold. -
The Health, Juvenile, and Corections facilities would expand as required in
plan B. Dog Control, OSU Extension, Archives, Detox, and Adult Residential
will either lease of build new space. Additional downtown pazking will also
be needed.
Cost Fstimate: $59 million
Tri-agency Law Enforcment Facility: This facility is in addition to options noted above.
Space needs are 131,123 GSF. Cost is estimated at $26 million.
Satellite Offices: Satellite office needs aze estimated a[ 35,670 GSF. If the County
constructs new space rather than leases, the cost is estunated at $7.6 million:
