J
~ ~
Marion Count Facilities Master Plan
FACILTTY ANALYSIS
1.0 Overview
'fhe purpose ofthe Facility Analysis is to evaluate the eleven County owned and operated buildings.
These eleven buildings aze gouped in three separate locations: DOWNTOWN, CENTER STREET
and CORRECTIONS SITES.
DOWNTOWN
Marion County Courthouse
Senator Building .
Franklin Building
Berg Building
CENTERSTREET
Health Building
Jwenile Court Building
Logan Buildings (3)
CORRECTION
Correction's Facility
Work Release Center
This analysis evaluates the County buildings to determine their current physical condition, spacial
analysis and abiliry to be adaptable for future use. This analysis assesses the Architectural, Structural,
Mechanical and Electrical systems as well as quantifying the amount and type of space currently
available. In general the County owned buildings are well maintained. Given the age of these
structures, many require continuous maintenance in order to keep them operational. The faciGties
analysis information was used to assist in determining if County owned buildings should be adapted
to meet future County needs or if they should be disposed of and oiher options considered.
A seismic study was not performed but it is doubtful if any of the County owned buildings could meet
current seismic standards.
Page 59
