Marion County Facilities Master Plan
Eaterior poors Doors in the courthouse at pubGc entrances are primarily aluminum frame
with glazing. None ofthe adsting public enuance doors currently meet ADA
requirements. Other doors are primarily hollow metal. Doors and hardware
have been well maintained and ADA modifications can be easily made.
BUILDINC INTERfOR
Wall Wall construction is primarily painted veneer plaster of gypsum base over
steel studs. Conditions vary, but generally walls aze in good shape and well
maintained. Areas of renovation or modiScation aze generally painted gypsum
on steel studs.
Ceiling System Glued on acoustical tile in high spaces and drop in acoustical tile are the
primarily ceiling material. Conditions vary, but generally all ceilings in un-
renovated spaces show signs of indoor air pollution and degradation. The
condition is primarily an aesthetic consideration.
F7oors vnyl composition tile is the primary floor covering, with the exception of
office spaces covered in a dense loop pile carpet. Generally, all floor
coverings are wom and will need replacement in the near future. Renovated
areas have new carpet installed and ue in good condition.
Finishes In general, interior design of facility is of high use public access. Finishes are
generally durable and have been very effective and well chosen. Normal wear
and tear are the primary reasons for upgrade and maintenance. Finishes are
somewhat dated, this concern is primarily aesthetics.
Furnishings Qu~lity offumishings is wom and dated. Selections were made for durability
to withstand higher than average use. Private or office areas have furniture
which is not ergonomically efficient. Ergonomics may be the primary reason
for replacement.
Toilet Rooms Toilet rooms are showing signs of nocmal wear and tear, but have been well
maintained. Modifications havebeen made, where possible, to accommodate
ADA accessiblilty requirements. Fixtures may need replacing in future, but
they aze adequate at this time.
Signage There is very little way finding or internal signage. Concepts for long range
Page 62
