~ Marion County Facilities Master Plan <br />~ aze to limit public access beyond public azeas which may not require extensive <br />signage. Public areas, however, are in need of new ADA compliant signage. <br />_~ Artwork There is very little art. The building itself was designed by an academically <br />renowned Architect, Pietro Belluschi, and ia itself may be considered such an <br />~ artifact. As with the building interior finish colors, artwork can have a <br />_ positive impact on visitors and employees bel~avior. <br />~ CIRGULATION <br />~ Stairwell Stairwells aze in good condition; however, they do not meet current width and <br />_ railing requirements. Other than code issues, all stairwells still function <br />adequately. ' <br />-~ Elevator Elevators are in good condition but will need modification to meet ADA <br />~ requirements. They also operate slowly by today's standards, but are <br />adequate. <br />Corridors Corridors function well and are adequately wide. Condition of corridors <br />~~ varies, but generally are in good shape. <br />_, . STRUCTURAL <br />~ The structnral system of the building consists of concrete pad footings for the <br />foundation. Walls are constructed out of reinforced concrete with a marble <br />-~ facade. Floors aze reinforced concrete joists and slabs. The roof is reinforced <br />concrete. <br />-1 ~ Adequate plans for this building exist to complete a seismic evaluation. <br />1 <br />~ MECHANICAL <br />~ The heating system consists of two steam boilers, radiation and fan coil units. <br />Although the boilers are well maintained, they are not more than 50 to 60 <br />_~ <br />Page 63 <br />~ <br />
