This endorsement represents conceptual agreenne~t ~oz~ tk~e use of the Senator Block as the prefeired site for the downtown transit center. The endorsement does not include the use of the secondary sites, pezldiuzg addihonal analysis by the Transit District and Council, nor cndorsement of specific use, design, or financing methodologies, pending further anal.ysis and r~fmcment of the concept by thc Transit District, Marion County, and City of Salem. It is also recommended that Councii extend use of the cunrent transit fac~ility on H~gh Street ~or a period not to e~tceed three years. At the end of such time, the Transit District would be responsible for demolition and restoration of the site to its normai use as a publxc thoz~ougk-~are. At the December 4, ~ 995, meeting, Cauncil recei~ved a letter from Luis Caraballo, President, Sa1em Transit District (Attachment B). Mr. Caraballo informed Council that the STD Board of Directors had: 1. Designated the Seuator Block as the preferred site for the downtown transit center;
