i~ <br />` <br />~ 2. Dermal Contact: If contaminated soil or dust comes in contact wi <br />th the skin, promptly <br />wash contact area with soap and water. If absorption is suspected, seek medical <br />~ attention promptly. <br />3. Inhalation: If a person breathes a large amount of dust, the exposed person should be <br />moved to fresh air immediately. If breathing has ceased, artificial respiration should be <br />administered at once and the affected person should be kept warm and level while <br />awaiting emergency medical assistance. <br />4. Ingestion: If contaminated soil is swallowed, the affected person should be kept warm <br />and level and monitored constantly. Medical attention should be obtained promptly. <br />The HSO will be in charge of implementing the emergency procedures and an airhorn will be <br />on-site for emergency communications with personnel around equipment. <br />The nearest emergency medical facility to the work area is the <br />located at in . Prior to the start of <br />work, all on-site personnel will become familiar with the use of the cellular phone. <br />1.7 Plan Review <br />Prior to starting the work at this site, a copy of this plan will be given to each person <br />anticipated to perform on-site duties for review. A signature sheet (See Daily Health and <br />Saftey Log) will be kept on-site and will require that each person sign that he/she has read and <br />understands the components of the plan. <br />Before starting work each day, a short safety meeting will be conducted with the on-site <br />personnel. The HSO will briefly discuss the field activities planned for that day and the unique <br />potential hazards those specific tasks may pose. The personnel will sign a daily log form <br />(attached) which will describe the work task(s) for that day, the potential hazards, protective <br />equipment Level, and emergency procedures before starting the days activities. Monitoring <br />intervals and detection levels will also be recorded on this form as well as any unusual events <br />or circumstances. The HSO will sign this form at the end of each day and keep it as part of <br />the permanent record for this project. <br />9 <br />
