Termination of CertiRcation ~ • ~ Any building can terminate its LEED'~ Green Buiiding cerqfiCation at any time without ~ penalty or liability. subject to the following conditions: • ~ 1. The certified LEEDTM Green Building owner agrees to provide the USGBC with written notice of its intent to terminate its status as a LEEDTM+ Building. ~ ~ . 2. The certifred LEEDTM~ Green Building agrees to relinquish all rigf~'ts and privileges of its prior certficabon within 30 days of ~roviding such written notice. 3. The USGBC or its Rating Body reserves the rig}rt to te~inate a building's green ,. design building certificafion for good cause•without penalty or liability. Good cause indudes~ but is.not limited to, the certfied building's or applicant's failure upon closer ~ review to meet`the critecia specified~in the rating system. _ The USGBC or its Rating Body agrees to provide written nofioe~~of its decision and ~ supporting reasons to; terminate a building's green design certification: Upon receiving such. notice of termination.~a certified building retains~all rights and privileges of certfication~ pending final resolution of its status. ~ ~ ~ certified building owner may respond in writing to demonstrate compliance o~ appeal the decision to withdraw certt'fication within 30 dajrs of receiving the termination of certification http://www.usgbc.org/programs/leed.htm 8/ 11 /98
