Ringnalda
CANDD BOaI'd
879 Cottage NE
Salem, OR 97301

Dear Mr. Ringnalda:
Thank you for your letter of September 4, 1998. Just last month, the Marion
County Commissioners approved the city policy to a11ow tax incentives regarding
housing development options in the downtown core. The north end of our block
will go out for request for proposal from the private sector in the near future, and
there is no limitation on housing development being considered. I am certain that
if there are financially feasible options out there, private developers will present
them to us.
We support downtown housing development, but we must also make wise
business decisions with tax payers money. All of that will be balanced when the
proposals arrive and are considered.
Thank you again for your letter of concern.
rf/kj
Marion County Cou~thouse . 100 High Street NE .
