Pence/Kelly Construction, Inc. continually strives to p~ovide awners' with
the highest quality workmanship possible.
The contract documents calied for a specified strength, and ditl not specify an
aggregate size. The 3/8" aggregate mix was submitted and approved for use by
Tim Terrich to meet the strength requirements for the columns;
The 3/8" aggregate mix was selected over the'/." mix for the cblumns even
though the 3/8" aggregate mix cost Pence/Kelly $9.00 more p~r yard than the'/."
mix. This cost concession was made because of the tight rebar spacing in the
cc~lumns; the 3/." mix would have increased the risk of inadequate vibration during
pl3cement and resulted in finished columns with rock pockets. :
Pence/Kelly provided the best mix design for the job
'ncerel ,
1
bave Hays
Project Manager
Cc: Leonard Lodder, Billy Wasson, John Whit#ington, Tim Terrich
