- BOARD OF COMM[SSIONERS AND <br />``'~-~ SALEM AREA MA5S TRANSIT DISTRICT <br />MINUTES t)F THE PUBLIC HEARINC~ REGARDING THE COURTHOUSE <br />SQUARE PROJECT <br />7hursday, December 4, 1997 6:00 p.m. <br />Marion County Courthouse Room 1330 <br />PRESENT: All three of the Board members were present for <br />the Marion County Board of Commissioners; <br />Chair Randall Franke, Cornmissioner Mary <br />Pearmine and Commissioner Gary Heer. Six of <br />the seven board members we~e present for the <br />Salem A~ea Mass Transit District; Chair Luis <br />Caraballo, Eric Swenson, Nancy Towslee, Mark <br />Wieprecht, Casey Campbell and Marcia Ke{ly. <br />Minu~es were recorded by A~gie Phipps. <br />CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Chair Franke <br />After comments frorn both Chairs of wanting to <br />be sure and include the public in all the planning <br />to take place on this project, the public hearing <br />began with a staff presentation. <br />Chair Franke commented that the project has <br />been stopped as of July, 1997 w hen it was <br />made clear that the original design would not <br />come in unde r the cost perimeters. The only <br />work which is continuing is the soil clean up at <br />the site.
