Mdersen-Wyckotf, Generai Manager <br />~: Courthouse Square Agreement Reachect <br />COURTHOUSE SQUARE AGREEMENT REACHED <br />Marion Counry, Salem Area Mass Transit District and Dan Berrey announced today that they <br />have reached an agreement regarding Mr. BeRe~s servic~es as project Coordinahx of the Courthouse <br />Square projed in downtown Salem. <br />Under terms of the agreement, Manon County and the Transii District agreed to pay Mr. Berrey <br />and his company, Courthouse Square, Inc. for the reasonable value of the seryices rendered to the <br />projed on behalf of the public bodies over the past year. Marion County, the Transit District, and Mr. <br />Berrey mutuaily agreed tl~at he woutd no tonger be involved in management of the pr~jec~ after they <br />failed to reach agreement on the terms of his involvement Marion County and the i"ransit Disfict <br />recendy retained the projed management senrices of tlie Melvin Marics Co, of pprtland. <br />The parties agreed that Mr. Semey's time and e~enses ezpended on beha(f of the projed <br />entitled him to a payment of $300,000, based on generaAy aa;epted market rates_ Mr. Berrey agreed to <br />provide the project team with all infomiation at his disposa! relating to the projec~, <br />"Mr. Berrey's services have been irnraluable to us in gettlrt9 ~~s Project off the ground" said <br />Randy CuRis, Ma~on County's Director af General Services. "He has been total(y dedicated to this <br />project for the last year and has m3de an invaluabfe con~'bution tpwrand j1s ~~tim~t~j s~~s," added the <br />Transit District's General Manager, R G. Andersen-Wyckoff . <br />°~ am pleased to have this issue resolved so that the County and Transit can rnove forward and <br />make this project successful;' Mr. 6errey said. "I am sorry tt~at I will not be fuRher involved in the <br />managemeni of the projed bepuse ~t is an exciting addition to drnmtown Salem.
