"~,,,,,,' <br />3.3 DEWATERING <br />~ <br />A. Notify Engineer if water is present in excavation. Proceed only under direction of <br />Engineer. <br />B. Keep excavation free from water. <br />C. Provide adequate pumping and piping equipment to handle and dispose of water, <br />if required. <br />D. Provide adequate screens or plugs to prevent objectionable material from entering <br />pipe. <br />E. Provide portable tank(s) to store pumped water pending analytical results from <br />Engineer. <br />F. Make all arrangements for and dispose of contaminated water off county property <br />at a disposal facility which complies with all local, state and federal requirements. <br />3.4 BACKFILL <br />A. Excavations will be stabilized to meet all applicable safety requirements and will <br />not be backfilled with imported fill. <br />B. Upon receipt of analytical results by the Engineer, stabilize excavation to the <br />minimum extent necessary with approved native material. <br />C. Comply with all OSHA, state and local requirements. <br />PART 4- MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br />4.1 UNCLASSIFIED EXCAVATION <br />A. Payment for unclassified excavation is considered incidental to underground <br />storage tank decommissioning and no sepazate payment will be made. <br />4.2 CONTAMINATED MATERIAL <br />A. From underground storage tank decommissioning or soil excavation activities: <br />1. Measurement of contaminated material will be the number of tons of <br />contaminated material disposed of based on weight tickets from the <br />disposal facility. Weight tickets shall be submitted to the Engineer by the <br />end of each work day. <br />2. Payment for contaminated material will be per ton and shall include all <br />Excavation 02221-3 <br />
