COURTHOUS~ SQUAR~ INC.
August 25, 1997
Eric Heinle
351 Glen Creek Rd NW #20
Salem, OR 97304
Re: Relocation Benefits
Dear Eric:
~ ~~c~..~"-
This letter is in regards to the relocation benefits you may.~eeeive su-ce you were relocated from your
apartment at 563 Court Street #2. I have calculated your benefit based on a rent supplement totaling
$462.00. I prepared those documents for your signature on July 17, 1997, when you were scheduled to
meet with my assistant Becca Reel. You declined to sign the "Relocation Replacement Housing Claim"
form since you felt we should have calculated your benefit based on 30% of your income.
In our opinion as a full time student you are either a dependent (in which case the 30% rule does not apply)
or not a dependent in w case you must use all household income for the 30% calculation. Based on the
fact you have submitte~return totaling $3,213 as your annual income and you have expenses for rent
and utilities totaling $3,972.12, we do not feel you have submitted your total household income. After
discussing your file with ODOT representative Allen Anderson, we feel that you are a dependent therefore,
not eligible for the 30% of income calculation. The relocation benefits presented to you in July represents
the benefits we feel you are entitled to receive.
I have enclosed the "Relocation Replacement Housing Claim" and the "Relocation Schedule Move Claim"
for your review and signature. If you decide not to sign these documents, I have enclosed the "Request for
Appeal and Relocation Benefits" that can be used to appeal our fmdings. Should you have any further
questions, please feel free to call my office at 503-371-3013.
/~
Sincerely, ~ ~ D. ~
f
~~~ - ~ya~
Dan Berrey r "v- ` 9r,~~,, ~`~`
Relocation Agent ~~~ ~
baz/hein1e01.wps
enclosure
cc: Randy Curtis, Marion County
~ f~ ~
1' ~ ~
~ ~
~ ~
~ ~ ~
~ ~
ry~~
~w/
~ !
340 Vista Ave SE • Salem, OR • 97302 •~horie 5O3-364-2118 •~ax 503-364-1453
