9828 <br />ALTERNATES <br />SECTION 01026-1 <br />1 GENERAL <br />~ 1.1 DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENTS: <br />A. Definition: An altemate is an amount proposed by bidders and stated on the Bid <br />~ Form that will be added to or deduded from Base Bid amount if the Owner decides <br />to accept a corresponding change in either scope of work or in produds, materials, <br />equipment, systems or installation methods described in Contrad Documents. <br />~ B. Coordination: Coordinate related work and modify or adjust adjacent work as <br />required to ensure that work affecied by each accepted altemate is complete and <br />fully integrated into the project. <br />~ C. Notification: Immediately fotlowing award of Contract, prepare and distribute to <br />~ each party involved, notification of the status of each altemate. Indicate whether <br />altemates have been accepted, rejeded or deferred for consideration at a later <br />~ date. Include a complete description of negotiated modifications to altemates, if <br />any. <br />~ D. Schedule: A"Schedule of Altemates" is incJuded at the end of this section. <br />Specification sedions referenced in the Schedule contain requirements for <br />materials and methods necessary to achieve the work described under each <br />altemate. <br />~ 1. InGude as part of each altemate, miscellaneous devices, appurtenances <br />and similar items incidental to or required for a complete installation <br />~ whether or not mentioned as pa~t of the altemate. <br />2. State on the Bid Form amounts that will be ADDED to or DEDUCTED from <br />the Basic Bid amount for the work desc,~ibed in the Schedule of Altemates <br />~ below. <br />1.2 SCHEDULE OF ALTERNATES: <br />~ A. Altemate No. 1(Add): Increase the paricing level by 19,716 gross square feet to <br />provide 68 additional parking spaces (increase from 190 to 258 parking spaces), <br />extend the structural slab at grade level to Gridline 3b and increase depth of <br />~ footings under columns located along Gridline 3a, all as indicated on drawings and <br />specifications. <br />B. Altemate No. 2(Add): Increase the parking area by 19,723 gross square feet, to <br />provide 56 additional paricing spaces, (increase from 258 to 314 parking spaces) <br />between Gridlines 3b and 1. Add comer pavilion structure at northwest comer <br />induding parking garage ventilation incorporated in and under this structure. Add <br />exit stai~ and secure enclosure at northeast comer of site. Acceptance of this <br />attemate is conditional on its construction occurring contiguous with base bid work <br />and work described as Add Altemate No. 1. <br />C. Alternate No. 3(Add): Install surface streetscape along Chemeketa Street as <br />identified on drawings, including paving system, asphalt concrete restoration in <br />street, street fumiture, and lighting. (Base bid to include underground work as <br />identified.) Performance of this worlc to be contiguous with other streetscape <br />improvements designed for this project. <br />D. Alternate No. 4(Add): Same as Altemate No. 3, but timing of installation to be <br />delayed up to 18 months after completion of work for base bid. <br />
