As we have discussed before, these <br />departments generally meet the criteria of independent public agericies and thereforo each <br />departmer~t qualifies for the relocadon benefits based on the 1970 federal act. These benefits <br />consist primarily of the actual cost of the move plus up to 510,00~ in "reestablishment <br />Gxpenses'. Based on your comrnents in your letter, I do not think the County is eligiblo for the <br />51,000 reimbursement for searching for a replacement sice. <br />Ha.ged on the information in yaur spread sheets, the County has spent SS3,037.23 moving these• <br />departments. This should be considered a legitimate relocation cost against the Courthouse <br />Square Project. In addition, the departments are eligible far a total of 592,527.76 of <br />reestablishment expenses that consist of remodeling costs and increased rent costs. Therefore, <br />the total relocation claim for Marion Counry depattments would b~~~ <br />The two claim forms appear tu be in order.
