~ Roudybush, Mike Hansen, the Board & Randy to review the status of the project. The
Board and Ken agreed that Randy is not to spend lots of time worrying about the budget.
His goal is to lower cost but Ken will be responsible for handling the budget impact. We
don't know the final cost to the county departments, but it will probably be above $1.20
per square foot. If rents are to go above $1.40 then we may get into problems because of
other choices which could have been made. The big jump to $1.40 would seem quite
expensive since the departments are used to paying 80-85 cents. The Board agreed that
Ken and his staff are responsible for the strategies in which this gets budgeted.
Randy would like to see Hitesch develop a model to put into the computer for analysis
rather than using consultants. This would save considerable funds.
Floor Plans: Lisa Wilkerson, Arbuckle Costic, has met with all departments and gone
through the first draft of floor plans with them. Randy is concerned that some
departments are getting carried away with their plans. Lisa should have the new set of
plans available for review next week. Randy will check with her tomorrow. There have
been changes made to the original drafts which affect the location of some departments.
Randy is somewhat concerned that some departments may not be happy with the changes.
When Lisa delivers the basic floor plan next week, Randy will meet with Dan to finalize
it. He will determine what Lisa's base fees cover and how far into the interior design they
~ will carry us.
There is inadequate restroom space in the plans and Randy has asked them to expand the
existing restroom areas, even if they have to leave them unfinished, so we can modify
them later if needed. We would hate to have to chisel through walls in the future.
Bob requested a copy of the plans on a CAD disk. If we want Dan to do any
modifications or manipulations then it will be easier if we have a disk. After Bob gets a
chance to review the plans for function, then they will sit down with the architects to
address any mechanical and custodial/maintenance issues.
County Fair Meeting: Elyn reported that the architects are working on a new model of
the square and Dan Berrey is wo:king on a brochure for soliciting retail people. Peggy is
working on a separate brochure for general publication. Randy wants to make sure that
Dan's brochure markets our space as well as Dan's. Elyn will make sure his brochure
addresses all available space. The next County Fair Meeting will be during the week of
June 23rd.
Ground Breaking: Peggy has been working on a Ground Breaking ceremony, originally
set for the last week of August. The ceremony is now on hold but may be rescheduled for
early September. We are waiting to see what happens with the parking structure and
dewatering problems.
