~
~ Was Mr. Berre aid for services while a member of the Salem Area Transit Board?
YP
i The Transit District does not pay for the preparation of responses to requests-for-proposal
nor was the district billed for any preparation costs. To the district's knowledge, Dan Berrey was
' not paid for work he may have done while he served on the Transit District Board (i.e., work
done before May 2, 1996). If the local press has any documentation to the contrary, they should
provide it to the Transit District.
'
'
'
'
'
'
'
t Did Randy Curtis, general services director of Marion county, profit from Courthouse
Square?
' No. The Marion County Commissioners asked Curtis, a county employee, to assume
the responsibilities of being the project manager for Courthouse Square. This responsibility was
not part of his job description and would require him to accept duties on top of his existing
' workload. The County Commissioners authorized a$600 per month salary increase for the
duration of the project. This adjustment made Curtis's salary equal to the two other department
, heads who were serving on the County's project team. This was consistent with the County's
personnel policy when employees are asked to "work out of class" and terminates when the extra
responsibilities cease.
,
'
'
J
