Andersen-Wyckoffdid receive a 23% increase in salary.
, When Andersen-Wyckoff was hired, the Board of Directors and he agreed to a salary of
$65,000 on a one-year contract while the parties determined if there was a match between the
two. The contract required a review of Andersen-Wyckof~s performance before the end of the
' first year of employment and committed the board to review his salary at that time.
The performance review by the board gave him high marks on all aspects of his
~ management of the district. Particularly noted was the establishment of a long term financing
plan, the work with the board and employees in developing a stro~:Qer labor/management
relationship as well as a successful passaae of a new District tax base.
' Before the ne otiation of a new contract the Board had a sal surv
g ary ey conducted of six
~ similar transit operations in the Northwest as well as of management peers at the City of Salem
and Marion County. Andersen-Wyckoff was not involved in the survey nor was he present in
executive session as the Board considered his compensation. The board increased his salary to
' $80,000 per year in relationship to the salary survey results and his performance. His requests
of an additional week of vacation annually and 20 additional hours of administrative leave were
granted.
~
(Support information: Tabs 22-23)
~
~
'
~
~
~
~
'
