Fourteen <br />, sites were originally listed and studied by the Tech~aical Committee. After an uv.tial analysis, <br /> . the list was pared to four sites, which were studied in greater detail. The Technical Connmittee <br /> <br />' ultimately split evenly on thr.ee sites: Greyhound block, Senator block, and Washington <br />Mutua~ block: On August 24, 1995, the Advisory Committee recommended that the Salem <br /> Transit District Board of DireCtors study the three sites in further detail p~riox to making a final <br /> commitment on a site. The futal repozt of the Advisory Comm~ittee is attachod. A prelitninazy <br />' sketch of the ground floor layout for the cbree sites is also attacl~ed, <br />~CTS & FINDINGS• <br />'~ <br />~taff Review of the Proposed Sites ~ <br />' Public Works staff participated in the Technical Committee. The most unportant issues with <br />~egard to site selection, from staff's standpoint, dealt with the prapased site's impact to <br />, downtow~, txaff~c circulation and its proximity to the downtown pedestrian centers.
