Use materials for cutting and patching that will result in <br />equal-or-better performance characteristics. <br />5. Section 01050, Coordination: <br />a. The General Contractor is responsible for overall coordination of the Project. <br />Cooperation among the various crafts and contracts is essential for the proper execution <br />of the work. <br />b. Job Conditions: <br />i. Contract Documents show and describe overall installation, capacities and <br />characteristics of equipment. Mechanical and electrical drawings are <br />diagrammatic and do not show every offset, bend or elbow which may be <br />required for installation in the space provided. <br />ii. Include all items required for a complete installation whether or not shown or <br />described. <br />iii. Follow indicated routing of pipes, ducts and conduits as closely as practicable. <br />Provide clearances and headroom and utilize spaces efficiently to maintain <br />adequate accessibility for future maintenance, repairs and additions. Relocate <br />installed work which does not provide adequate accessibility. <br />6. Section 01090, Definitions and Standards: <br />a. General: This section specifies procedural and administrative requirements for <br />compliance with goveming regulations and codes and standards imposed upon the Work. <br />These requirements include obtaining permits, licenses, inspections, releases and similar <br />documentation, as well as payments, statements and similar requirements associated <br />with regulations, codes and standards. <br />i. The term "Regulations" is defined to include laws, statutes, ordinances and <br />lawful orders issued by goveming authorities, as well as those rules, conventions <br />and agreements within the construction industry which effectively control the <br />performance of the work regardless of whether they are lawfully imposed by <br />governing authority or not. <br />b. Definitions: <br />i. General Explanation: A substantial amount of specification language consists of <br />definitions of terms found in other contract documents, including the drawings. <br />(Drawings are recognized as being diagrammatic in nature and not completely <br />descriptive of the requirements indicated thereon.) Certain terms used in <br />contract documents are defined in this article. Definitions and explanations <br />contained in this section are not necessarily either complete or exclusive, but are <br />general for the Work to the extent that they are not stated more explicitly in <br />another element of the contract documents. <br />ii. General Requirements: The provisions or requirements of other Division 1 <br />sections apply to entire work of the Contract and, where so indicated, to other <br />elements which are included in the project. <br />c. Specification Format and Content Explanation: <br />i. General: This article is provided to help the user of these specifications more <br />readily understand the format, language, implied requirements and similar <br />conventions of content. <br />d.
