Removai of Existing Transfer Facilitv: .
The current facility was developed in cooperation with the Transit District ~
utilizing a combination of District and Renewal Funds. Given the completion of
a new facility, it is consistent with the object'nres of the renewal program to
restore the existing site to vehicular circulation. - ~
Weather Proteetion:
Weather protection is an established_ program. The cuRent process requires
the owner to design a system meeting certain standards. An agreement is
established where the renewal program will provide up to $160 per lineal foot
of system construction. Systems with costs of $16`I to $300 per lineal foot are
provided through a loan.
Skvbridqes:
The objective of skybridge construction has been to interconnect retail
business for public access at the second level. The current policy for
construction has been for each of the connected property/building owners to be
responsible _for reimbursing, with interest, the cost of bridge design and
construction. To participate in a bridge con~ecting non-retail facilities would
require a policy consideration.
The above is intended only as a thumb nail sketch. It would be advisable for you to
confirm in the near future which activities you intend to pursue. We will eventually
need to establish a cooperation agreement which identifies the specific projects, their
anticipated cost, and responsibility for design and construction. Obviously, Renewal
funds are subject to the same public bidding and contract requirements as other
publicly funded projects.
Please advise if we can provide further assistance at this time.
