From: RANDY CURTIS
~; To: ch2fam
Date: 9/10/98 1:38pm
Subject: Floor plans / furnishings /securiry
Good afternoon: Even though floor plans are technically completed, we are continually reviewing the plan details
and budget. Questions have been raised indicating that many of you are unsure as to what furnishings/casework is
included in the project budget as "built-ins" vs what fumishings are department responsibility.
It has always been an assumption that most office furniture, including counters, storage cabinets, etc, are the
responsibility of the department. In order to clarify what items are built-in vs what is provided by the department, I
will be distributing two sets of plans for your review in the next week.
1. The first set shows only the furniture/casework that is included in the project budget. It is assumed that this plan
reflects the condition of the space at the time you move in.
2. The second plan reflects the general furniture layout used by the architect. This layout is partially based on an
inventory of your existing space and the furnishings you will move to the site.
Please note that space designated for modular units (designated by =____= lines) are not fixed walls. These lines
only designate the approximate area for open-office units. If however, you change the location of the operroffice
units or the number of work stations in these areas, it may affect the power & data connections required.
It is now time to review in more detail the office furniture layout and make sure everything fds. Coupled with this
issue, some depts. have raised security concerns that may require mino~ modifications to the floor plan. A
separate report will be issued in the near future regarding our building security policies.
After reviewing the plans please contact me to discuss furnishing issues, securiry and budget strategies.
If you woufd like to stop by the facility office on Monday, you can pick up the plans or we will deliver.
~~~1~~1.~
, ,,
;~y
~
'f ~' `' t998
. ~,~" /t~,~-~1Qf~^~'hAr
