4 <br />Signs and warnings will be posted following the requirements of CFR <br />1926.62, (m),(1),(2). In addition, Staton Construction will inform <br />other contractors which may be present on the site, of activities <br />associated with potential lead emissions as covered by the <br />standard. Community residents and the public will be notified by <br />poster or other appropriate means. <br />PROHIBITED PRACTICES: <br />Because of the extreme danger associated with the following <br />activities, Staton Construction has prohibited their use. These <br />include: <br />l. Open flame burning of lead based paint (LBP). <br />2. Silica sand blasting of LBP. <br />3. Use of stripping agents containing methylene chloride. <br />4. Eating, smoking, drinking, applying cosmetics in the work <br />area. <br />5. Use of propoane heaters inside containments. <br />IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE: <br />Before work begins, a meeting will be held to inform all employees <br />of the hazards associated with this project, and the controls to be <br />implemented to minimize exposure to employees. In general the <br />chronology for compliance beginning with the first day of work is <br />as follows: <br />l. Employee orientation and safety awareness training. <br />2. Acknowledgement by signature of understanding od SSP. <br />3. Set up of Engineered Exposure Reduction. <br />4. Set up of Respiratory Protection. <br />5. Set up of Protective Clothing Protection. <br />6. Set up of Air Monitoring. <br />7. Begin demolition process. <br />8. Analyze air monitoring data. <br />9. Make protection adjustments. <br />This compliance document will be reviewed with each employee prior <br />to the beginning of the job. Copies will be furnished to those <br />employees requesting a copy. This compliance program will be <br />reviewed at least every six months. It will be reviewed more often <br />whenever: <br />•Any employee exhibits clear symptoms of lead poisoning. <br />•Any employee's blood lead level rises by 6 ug/dl. <br />•Job conditions cause a marked increase to exposure. <br />
