The meeting was a weekly report by Staton on the overall progress and
status of the demolition project.
The meeting was attended by
Mike Staton Staton Construction Bill Annen Century West Engineering
Loni Richey Staton Construction GeoffBrown Century West Engineering
Judy Crockett Marion County Solid Waste Jeff Smith Three Rivers Environmental
David Hartwig Marion County Risk Management
The following topics were discussed and are summarized as:
1. Demolition is progressing on schedule. The Community Development and Beri Buildings are
down. Demolition of the Lui will commence on Friday, rather than the scheduled demolition of the
1 story Senator. The reason for this is that, it is likely that if any asbestos remains on the site, it will
be found in the Lui or Senator buildings and it is unlikely that it any will be discovered in the 1 story
Senator. By leaving the 1 story Senator intact, Staton will have work to jump to in the event that
asbestos is found in the Lui.
2. Demolition Recycling is exceeding planned levels. To date, 96% of demolition waste leaving the
site has been recycled.
A. The bricks from the demo of the Community Development and Beri buildings will be
offered to the public free of charge. A fenced off area of the site will be opened to the
public Monday morning with appropriate warning signs.
L E A D I N G T H R O U G H E F F E C T I V E S O L U T I O f~ S
1593 Clay Street NE Salem, Oregon 97301 Phone: (503) 540-0995 FAX: (503) 589-1657
