The meeting was a weekly report by Staton on the overall progress and
status of the demolition project.
The meeting was attended by:
David Hartwig Kathleen Thorpe
7udy Crockett GeoffBrown
Mike Staton 7eff Smith, Three Rivers Environmental
Loni Richey
The following topics were discussed and are summarized as:
1. Demolition is ~ro~ressing on schedt~le. Staton is done tearing down the Goodman, Goldberg, and
1 Story Senator, and is in the process of hauling off the rubble. Upon arrival of the crane, next
Tuesday, Staton will commence demolishing the Senator.
2. Tlam~l~tinn Recycling I~proceeding at near ~lanned levels. To date, 88.27% of demolition waste
leaving the site has been recycled. Much of the concrete waste generated during demolition has
been stored on-site for shoring material, which impacts the overall percent recycled, as does the
brick giveaway. So the actual percentage of recycled material is probably higher.
A. The brick from the demo of the Community Development and Beri buildings is being
offered to the public and is a big hit. An article published in the Statesman Journal
generated hundreds of calls to Staton during the week. Over 7 semi loads of brick have
been removed from the site to date by the public.
L ~ A D I N G T H R O U G H E F F E C T I V E ~ O L'~~~ 1 I~~ N S
1593 Clay Street NE Salem.
