3. Mike asked if we want to leave a patch of asphalt as a staging area for work during the winter.
Kathleen said no, take everything out.
4. Staton has been selected to remove basements for all buildings on the site. David Hartwig says he
will get a letter to Mike stating Marion County's intent to modify Staton's contract to include the
basements. Staton will begin removing the basements on September 2°d, and will be finished by
September 26.
David asked about Staton's willingness and ability to perform remedial excavation. Mike said that
he has provided numbers to Tom Gainer and that Ron Richie would be the project manager for
Staton on this phase of the project. David asked if, in the event Staton is granted a modification
of their contract to perform the work, how soon could they start. Mike replied that they could start
on completion of basement excavation, possibly earlier.
6. Staton intends to leave the tree removal for last in order to avoid having to deal with an irate public.
7. Pence Kelly has requested that their workers on the Statesman Journal site be allowed to park on
the Chevron site. PEG still has to remove their remedial system, so while it is a possibility, they
could not begin parking there until after the first of September.
Century West Engineering appreciates the opportunity to provide this information to you.
