MOU.doc <br />B. Design Partner Responsibilities <br />This section describes the specific responsibilities of a Parhner whose pilot project facility is still in <br />the design phase. Such partners are called "design partners". Investigation of the pilot project <br />facility under the Program focuses on the usability and implementation of the LEEDTM tools. <br />1. LEEDTM Rating Activities. T'he Design Partner agrees to: <br />a) Design the project in compliance with applicable codes and regulations. <br />b) Meet (and attempt to exceed) the third party standards referenced in the LEEDTM 1.0. <br />c) Survey the project for possible green building measures consistent with a LEEDTM medal <br />rating. <br />d) Consider the full range of design, technology, and maintenance options that can irnprove <br />environmental and economic performance of the pilot project facility. <br />e) Implement a set of options that, taken as a whole maximizes environmental and economic <br />performance, is profitable, and meets a LEEDTM medal score. <br />fl Provide the required documentation to the designated USGBC Prograiu Liaison for <br />evaluation. <br />2. Schedule. The Design Partner agrees to proceed with the following schedule: <br />a) Within 7 days of signing this MOU, to complete the Project Statistics section of the <br />Evaluation Protocol. <br />b) Within 15 days of signing this MOU, to distribute the LEEDTM Evaluation Protocol to <br />development team for their review and initial assessment. <br />c) Within 45 days of signing tlus MOU, to conduct in cooperation with USGBC a kick-off <br />teleconference meeting. USGBC agrees that it will provide materials, orientation information, <br />planning assistance, and networking ideas at or to this kickoff meeting. The Partner agrees <br />that all members of the development team with a role in achieving a LEEDTM medal rating <br />(such as facilities management, environmental compliance, human resources, corporate <br />communications, strategic planning, financial resources, etc.) will be represented by a senior <br />manager at the kick-off meeting. USGBC's participation may take the form of supplying <br />materials and/or having the LEEDTM Contractor staff or consultants participating via <br />telephone or videoconference. <br />5 <br />
