MOU.doc <br />IV. USGBC Responsi~ilities <br />A. Program Liaison. USGBC agrees to de~ ~~nate a Program Liaison to provide technical <br />support for the Program, and will notify the Partner within two weeks of any change in the <br />designated liaison. Technical Support. USGBC agrees to p~ovide technical support to the Partner to assist the <br />Partner in achieving a LEEDTM rating. Such support shall include: <br />Providing information and respondin Q to requests about LEEDTM compliance and <br />implementation methods. <br />2. Offering workshops and training courses that the Partner may attend to learn about green <br />building technologies, analytical techniques, and the use of technical tools developed for <br />the LEED Green Building Rating SystemTM. At present, two workshops and training <br />courses are contemplated: one at the USGBC annual membership summit in September <br />1999, and one at the AIA/[JSGBC Conference in October 1999. <br />3. Assisting with the LEEDTM application process. <br />4. Providing compliance review, through the involvement of the LEEDTM Committee. The <br />LEEDTM Committee sha11 also be engaged in the event of a dispute on the capture of a <br />credit. <br />C. Recognition. USGBC agrees to provide the Partner with recognition for its public service in <br />protecting the environment through means such as publishing articles describing the Pmgram and <br />organizations that have completed outstanding proj'ects, including analyses of the benefits <br />achieved by participants in the Program; organizing media events; and ereating public service <br />advertisements that raise awareness of the program as a whole. <br />D. Advertising. USGBC agrees to work with the Partner at its request, either independently or <br />in conjunction with other Partners, to develc~- advertisements publicizing the Partner's <br />involvement in the Program. <br />6 <br />
