<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Policy Analyst <br />Class Code: <br />114 <br />Bargaining Unit: 13 - Non-Supervisory <br />MARION COUNTY <br />Established Date: Sep 1, 2015 <br />Revision Date: Oct 23, 2015 <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$2,420.80 - $3,240.00 Biweekly <br />$5,245.07 - $7,020.00 Monthly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Exempt02 ProfessionalsBoard of Commissioners <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Performs complex policy and administrative support for the county commissioners, chief administrative <br />officer, and executive level staff of a limited scope; conducts research and policy analysis; writes issue <br />briefs, position papers, grant applications and other official documents and correspondence; provides <br />administrative support to the commissioners, committees, or special task forces requiring in-depth <br />research and policy analysis; manages special projects, issues and/or initiatives. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the direction of the Deputy County Administrative Officer who assigns work, provides <br />technical and administrative direction, guidance and performance feedback. Also receives direction from <br />county commissioners, the chief administrative officer and senior staff as necessary. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of positions in this classification <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Provides high level staff assistance to commissioners, assigned committees and commissions; <br />responsible for meeting coordination, proper documentation, presentation materials and ensures <br />accurate and timely distribution of information; conducts policy and program research; writes policy <br />and issue briefs in assigned policy areas. <br />2.Responsible for developing and managing countywide policies and procedures; writes new policies <br />and revisions; coordinates policy and procedure updates with appropriate department personnel, <br />ensures commissioner, department head and elected official review, presents final policies and <br />procedures to the Board of Commissioners for adoption. <br />3.Facilitates special task forces and committees; directs, organizes, and prepares comprehensive <br />reports and presentations; provides updates and final reports to the Board of Commissioners and <br />the chief administrative officer; develops and presents advisory board trainings. <br />4.Writes articles, press releases, speeches, and public relations materials for the commissioners; <br />researches and writes issue briefs, board documents, grant applications, and final reports; makes <br />presentations to the Board of Commissioners and/or community groups. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/4/2020 <br /> <br />
