<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Juvenile Department <br />Assistant Director <br />Class Code: <br />206 <br />Bargaining Unit: 02 - Supervisory <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$3,408.80 - $4,565.60 Biweekly <br />$7,385.73 - $9,892.13 Monthly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Exempt02 ProfessionalsJuvenile <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Provides leadership and direction in day to day operations, services and resources of the Juvenile <br />Department which includes Juvenile probation services, detention, Alternative Programs, <br />Counseling/Family Support program, Guaranteed Attendance Program, food and medical services, and <br />campus building maintenance and improvement projects; acts as an assistant to the Director and <br />performs other related work as required. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under general supervision of the Juvenile Department Director. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Exercises general supervision over department supervisors who manage a variety of department <br />programs; provides program oversight; participates in the selection of new personnel; provides for <br />training, evaluates performance, oversees program expenditures, responds to grievances and <br />recommends personnel transactions. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Participates in the preparation of the department's budget and monitors ongoing expenditures. <br />2.Coordinates all internal programs to assure a common vision, goal and direction. <br />3.Prepares and/or reviews and approves department policies and procedures. <br />4.Assists in managing the general and professional performance of the agency. <br />5.Assists with the department's relationship with other agencies; acts as a liaison, develops and <br />implements protocols and/or agreements with other agencies. <br />6.Responds supportively to the issues and needs of victims. <br />7.Responds to and problem solves issues of youth on supervision and their families as well as <br />community members regarding Juvenile Department service delivery. <br />8.Speaks to civic groups and community organizations with respect to department programs, <br />activities and vision. <br />9.Serves on various boards and committees addressing juvenile issues. <br />10.Works closely with department and agency labor unions. <br />11.Carries out all special projects or programs requested by the Judge or the Director. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
