Assignments may include roads, bridge, vegetation, East Salem Service District, sign shop, <br />and environmental services. <br />9.Performs maintenance and minor repair of equipment in assigned technical area. <br />10.May be assigned to seasonal projects and programs related to assigned technical <br />area. Assignments may include, but are not limited to, the paving, chip seal, crack seal, and gravel <br />road stabilization programs. <br />11.Fosters a positive work environment. <br />12.Actively participates in training opportunities to enhance leadership skills as well as technical <br />expertise. <br />Bridge Crew Leader <br />1.Collaborates with the engineering division regarding prioritization of bridge replacement needs. <br />2.Assists in maintaining and repairing bridges by removing defective bridge members, replacing <br />stringers, flooring and hand or guard rails; removes defective steel; installation of decking <br />stringers, braces, hand rails and fenders on wooden bridges; painting, and rip-rap work. <br />3.Performs skilled carpentry work for bridge construction and maintenance. <br />4.Oversees field inspection of bridges, guard rails and box culverts; monitors the structural condition <br />and safety of structures; and schedules repair and maintenance. <br />Sign Crew Leader <br />1.Monitors and maintains inventory for levels of signs, paint, beads, plastic markings, tools, and <br />other traffic control devices. <br />2.Performs routine maintenance on flashing lights, replacing bulbs, lenses and flashers using aerial <br />bucket truck. <br />3.Operates computer sign plotter creating a variety of traffic control signs. <br />4.Ensures traffic control devices adhere to federal standards. <br />East Salem Service District (ESSD) <br />1.Oversees the annual drainage maintenance program for the ESSD. <br />2.Coordinates with the Division of Lands and Army Corps of Engineers to obtain permits as <br />needed. Coordinates activities with multiple watershed councils. <br />3.Schedules, oversees, and monitors active projects including coordinating work with contractors <br />and public works personnel; prepares bid proposals or cost estimates for maintenance projects; <br />inspects and confirms all work performed within the district. <br />4.Reviews and comments on planning decisions for open and underground drainage systems within <br />ESSD. Responsible for enforcement regarding open drainage ditches. <br />5.Coordinates survey projects to determine easement boundaries; performs easement research and <br />notifies property owners of problems related to easement infringement. <br />Environmental Services Crew Leader <br />1.Develops training programs for hands-on equipment and safety training at environmental sites and <br />follows progress of operators. <br />2.Attends trainings on county policies and procedures, including advanced cash handling <br />techniques. <br />3.Performs customer service related activities. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
