<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Environmental Services <br />Division Manager <br />Class Code: <br />354 <br />Bargaining Unit: 02 - Supervisory <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$3,408.80 - $4,565.60 Biweekly <br />$7,385.73 - $9,892.13 Monthly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Exempt 02 ProfessionalsPublic Works <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Responsible for the management and coordination of providing solid waste disposal, construction and <br />monitoring of landfills, ashfills, waste to energy facilities and transfer stations, as well as waste reduction, <br />reuse, recycling, composting and special waste programs. Supervises personnel engaged in <br />environmental matters, such as monitoring and control of invasive species, permitting and monitoring of <br />non-point-source water pollution, the provision of the county's water quality program, and coordination <br />with weed boards and watershed councils. Manages county park system. Performs other related duties <br />as assigned. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general direction of the Public Works Director who establishes goals, assigns general <br />areas of responsibility, and maintains the degree of control necessary to the successful accomplishment <br />of the work. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Exercises direction and supervision over a varying number of professional, para-professional, and <br />technical personnel; participates in the selection of new personnel, training, evaluating performance and <br />responding to grievances. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Responsible for the operation and regulatory compliance of disposal, recycling, composting and <br />special waste collection facilities. <br />2.Performs technical investigations and studies while producing reports as directed by the director. <br />3.Prepares and monitors budget for areas of responsibility. <br />4.Investigates, makes recommendations regarding, and responds to citizens' concerns and inquiries. <br />5.Represents the department and the county in public meetings, committee meetings and <br />negotiating agreements as they relate to solid waste and parks matters. <br />6.Involved in planning waste management programs such as waste reduction, recycling, <br />composting, special waste collection and disposal. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
