<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Road Operations <br />Supervisor <br />Class Code: <br />412 <br />Bargaining Unit: 02 - Supervisory <br />MARION COUNTY <br />Established Date: Jan 9, 2000 <br />Revision Date: Sep 1, 2013 <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$2,301.60 - $3,084.80 Biweekly <br />$4,986.80 - $6,683.73 Monthly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Exempt 07 Skilled CraftPublic Works <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Oversees and coordinates the activities of a crew(s) engaged in road and bridge maintenance, vegetation <br />controls, constructing or maintaining highway signs, signals, road striping, or pavement markings; ferry <br />operations; weigh master/ truck safety, nuisance control; and performs other related duties as required. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of the Operations Division Manager who assigns duties, observes <br />work, and inspects work upon completion for conformance to engineering specifications, standards and <br />departmental policies and practices. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED: <br />Exercises full supervision over operation maintenance workers, equipment operators, crew leaders, or <br />seasonal and shared workers; participates in the selection of new personnel; provides for training, <br />evaluates performance, and recommends personnel transactions; and responds to citizen inquires. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Assists in the planning and coordination of all operations construction, maintenance, and repair <br />activities within assigned areas. <br />2.Supervises road maintenance tasks including installing, maintaining and cleaning ditches, tiles, <br />drains, culverts, retaining walls, revetments and other dirt masonry to cement work; and surface <br />work including patching, crack sealing, oiling, brooming, or grading. <br />3.Supervises the preparation of sign layouts, lettering and erection of a variety of signs; all road <br />striping and pavement marking operations; and the maintenance of flashing lights and signals. <br />4.Supervises bridge maintenance program and schedules activities including devising multi-year <br />work plans and oversee work completed by crews.
