Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />6.Supervises weigh master/ truck safety program and operations, including oversee staff training <br />performing field inspections with alternative work schedules. <br />7.Supervises urgency/emergency work, as well as storm response and county emergency <br />operations; considered a public works essential employee, and available on a year round 24/7 <br />work schedule. <br />8.Oversees workgroups' equipment needs; coordinates equipment maintenance with fleet; and <br />develops specification and justification documents recommending the purchase of new equipment. <br />9.Establishes and maintains recordkeeping systems; writes daily and other reports regarding time, <br />equipment and material used; develops preliminary section budget; and advises Operations <br />Division Manager of program needs. <br />10.Oversees and coordinates the estimation of needed materials; the ordering of materials; and <br />maintains the inventory control over stocks. <br />11.Responds to citizens' inquiries in a timely manner; works to resolve the issues or refers them to the <br />appropriate party for resolution. <br />12.May take part in or direct chemical hazard clean-ups, according to training given, for incidents on <br />roads and road-related properties. <br />13.May work with other department/county staff on varying projects including sharing staff resources; <br />and may work with other agencies on joint projects or by providing services. <br />14.Performs rotational, on-call supervisory pager duty and other related duties as assigned. <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.Graduation from high school or equivalent and college level course work closely related to the <br />duties and responsibilities of the position; AND <br />2.Five (5) years progressively responsible experience in road construction or work directly related to <br />operations maintenance programs, which includes (2) years in the specific specialty field for which <br />we are recruiting (i.e. road maintenance, vegetation, bridge maintenance, signs, road striping and <br />pavement marking) and at least two (2) years experience as a supervisor, lead worker or working <br />foreman; OR <br />3.Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the <br />position. <br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br />Must possess, or obtain within 30 days of hire, a valid Class C non-commercial Oregon driver's <br />> <br />license. Must possess, at time of hire, and maintain an acceptable driver's record. <br />Must pass a criminal history background investigation; however, conviction of a crime may not <br />> <br />necessarily disqualify an individual for this classification. <br />Must obtain Flagger training within 30 days. <br />> <br />Must obtain Awareness and Limited Operations' level hazardous material clean-up training. <br />> <br />Successfully complete FEMA ICS/NIMS certification trainings: IS-100 and IS-700 within 90 days of <br />> <br />hire. <br />WORKING CONDITIONS <br />Work is performed in a general office or field environment. <br />Office Work: includes the use of a computer using word processing software, spreadsheets, e-mail <br />programs, the Internet, and accessing geographical information files, department databases, and photo- <br />log files or programs specific to the position. <br />Field Work: includes working in a variety of inclement weather conditions and for long hours under <br />emergency conditions.
