MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING 1.Two (2) years college course work in criminal justice, social science, social work or related field; AND 2.One (1) year victim advocacy experience; OR 3.Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the position. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Must possess or obtain, within 30 days of hire, a valid Oregon driver's license. Must possess, at > time of hire, and maintain an acceptable driver's record. Must pass a criminal history background investigation; however, conviction of a crime may not > necessarily disqualify an individual for this classification. Must be able to pass a drug-screening test. > KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY Working knowledge of: the criminal justice system, court proceedings, community services, and the legal system in the District Attorney's office. Ability and skill to: prepare reports and correspondence; track statistical data for grant requirements; communicate effectively in both oral and written form; respond effectively in crisis situations with a prejudice and judgment-free attitude; work with individuals and agencies with a variety of backgrounds and purposes; establish and maintain professional, effective, and collaborative working relationships the public, co-workers, courts, and other agencies; operate a computer; operate an automobile; and make appropriate referrals for direct service.
