Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />6.Prepares for and performs occasional public speaking engagements to community agencies and <br />organizations regarding the Victim Assistance Program. <br />7.Maintains pertinent records for grant requirements. <br />8.Prepares monthly activity reports on current projects, case information, meetings, etc. <br />9.Participates in professional organizations and committees. <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.Two (2) years college course work in criminal justice, social science, social work or related field; <br />AND <br />2.One (1) year victim advocacy experience; OR <br />3.Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the <br />position. <br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br />Must possess or obtain, within 30 days of hire, a valid Oregon driver's license. Must possess, at <br />> <br />time of hire, and maintain an acceptable driver's record. <br />Must pass a criminal history background investigation; however, conviction of a crime may not <br />> <br />necessarily disqualify an individual for this classification. <br />Must be able to pass a drug-screening test. <br />> <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY <br />Working knowledge of: the criminal justice system, court proceedings, community services, and the legal <br />system in the District Attorney's office. <br />Ability and skill to: prepare reports and correspondence; track statistical data for grant requirements; <br />communicate effectively in both oral and written form; respond effectively in crisis situations with a <br />prejudice and judgment-free attitude; work with individuals and agencies with a variety of backgrounds <br />and purposes; establish and maintain professional, effective, and collaborative working relationships the <br />public, co-workers, courts, and other agencies; operate a computer; operate an automobile; and make <br />appropriate referrals for direct service. <br />ADOPTED: <br />10/01 <br />REVISED: <br />10/07; 02/16 <br />MARKET REVIEW: <br />04/16 <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/4/2020 <br />
