Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />8.Provides courtroom security and assist probation officers with security needs. <br />9.Attend staff and other scheduled meetings as directed. <br />10.Ability to work in a variety of geographic locations. <br />11.Performs other duties as assigned. <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.Minimum two (2) year degree with major course work in psychology, counseling or other field <br />related to assignment area; AND <br />2.One (1) year of experience in corrections, criminal justice, social work or a related field; OR <br />3.Any equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training relevant to the position. <br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br />Must possess, or obtain within 30 days of hire, a valid Oregon driver's license. Must possess, at <br />> <br />time of hire, and maintain an acceptable driver's record. <br />Ability to secure and maintain custody of resistive juveniles. <br />> <br />Possess a CPR certification within three months of hire. <br />> <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />Knowledge of: adolescent development, behavior and adjustment challenges of juvenile clients; family <br />functioning and sociological factors; cognitive restructuring, skill development, emotional regulation and <br />behavior modification intervention techniques; proper utilization of the effective practices in community <br />supervision (EPICS) model. <br />Skill and ability to: conduct personal interviews; maintain accurate and complete records; communicate <br />effectively both orally and in writing; support and maintain a safe, positive and cooperative working <br />environment; understand and effectively follow oral and written instructions, communication and <br />procedures; meet and assist individuals from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds in a <br />courteous, professional manner; maintain confidentiality; lift supplies; use a computer and make entries <br />into data systems; adapt positively to a rapidly changing environment; learn and implement skills being <br />trained. <br />ADOPTED: <br />10/16 <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br />
