<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Economic Development <br />Coordinator <br />Class Code: <br />167 <br />Bargaining Unit: 13 - Non-Supervisory <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$2,420.80 - $3,240.00 Biweekly <br />$5,245.07 - $7,020.00 Monthly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Exempt02 ProfessionalsCommunity Services <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Provides planning, development and coordination with policymakers, community leaders, businesses, <br />and entrepreneurs to encourage economic growth and increase employment in Marion County. <br />Coordinates strategic alignment of partnerships and activities in the advancement of Marion County's <br />economic development strategy including land and infrastructure, business climate, workforce and <br />education, and community development. Performs other work as required. <br />DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASSIFICATION <br />Utilizes leadership, technical ability, and problem resolution skills to implement plans and projects <br />designed to recruit and retain businesses while also providing highly complex staff assistance in the <br />Community Services Department; responds to sensitive or complex inquiries or service complaints and <br />facilitates resolution involving other county departments, service districts, or key business partners; <br />creates goals and objectives designed to improve relations between the private and public sectors. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of the Community Services Director who assigns work, establishes <br />goals, and reviews results obtained through an analysis of program effectiveness and overall <br />performance. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of positions in this classification; however, may <br />exercise lead direction over clerical or office staff. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Leads the department's economic development team in creating and coordinating business <br />development strategies, goals, and objectives. <br />2.Leads and coordinates the development, implementation, and execution of developed strategies. <br />3.Responsible for providing vision, leadership, and direction on major strategic initiatives and <br />projects. <br />4.Coordinates responses to inquiries, resolution of complaints, problems or emergencies related to <br />area of responsibility. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
