Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />5.Works with other governments and agencies on developing and maintaining industrial lands <br />portfolio, GIS mapping and digital cataloguing relating to economic development. Works to ensure <br />public access to digital information. <br />6.Performs complex market research and industrial trend scans, develops professional documents <br />and reports. Makes public presentations to board and community/business groups. <br />7.Leads the development of marketing materials and programs promoting Marion County's economic <br />interests. <br />8.Serves as county representative when managing program events and attends meetings with <br />county partners or other public agencies. <br />9.Assists in the preparation, administration and monitoring of program budget. <br />10.Identifies and facilitates the submission of various grant opportunities. <br />11.Performs related duties as assigned. <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.Bachelor's degree with major course work in economic development, community development, <br />business administration or a related field; AND <br />2.Two (2) years of experience in economic development, community development, business/ <br />program development; OR <br />3.Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the <br />position. <br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br />Knowledge of economic development theories and principles, and a familiarity with Oregon's <br />> <br />regulatory environment. <br />Demonstrated experience working with the public sector. <br />> <br />Possession of a valid class C Oregon driver's license at time of hire. <br />> <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />Knowledge and experience in economic development theories and concepts, research and statistical <br />methods, business and financial analysis, project management methods, public relations principles, <br />program design and management; political and business acumen; <br />Demonstrated skill and ability in developing and coordinating service planning and training; ability to <br />relate effectively with community agencies and resources; ability to function as a team member and a <br />team leader; ability to function with limited direct supervision; ability to act in a professional manner; <br />effective written and oral communication skills, including the ability to listen and negotiate; ability to <br />prepare concise and complete reports; ability to organize and work within financial guidelines; ability and <br />skill in mediation, facilitation, and group process; understanding of cultural specific information; and has <br />the ability to learn from feedback provided. <br />ADOPTED: <br />1/17 <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br />
