Specialized knowledge and licensing in nursing is <br />required. Responsibilities include managing several program/service area budgets, contracts, and <br />compliance laws, rules and regulations. Responsibilities also include supervision of licensed nursing and <br />other licensed or non-licensed program staff; and planning and development of programs. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of a Public Health Division Director who assigns and oversees work, <br />establishes goals and reviews results obtained for overall effectiveness and for meeting department and <br />county objectives. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Exercises full supervision for supervisory, professional, technical and support staff. May also supervise <br />interns and volunteers. <br />DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS <br />Positions in this management classification differ from the supervisory classifications by the factors <br />including, but not limited to: <br />Significant responsibility and oversight to ensure program engagement at the community level and <br />> <br />convenes at least one coalition and may participate in more than one community coalition. <br />Providing strong leadership to multiple program or several service areas. May supervise other <br />> <br />supervisory staff. <br />Oversight of program development, grant application and implementation and budgeting <br />> <br />expertise.
