Receives, monitors, and processes abandoned manufactured structure information in <br />compliance with Oregon state laws. <br />6.Develops and prepares computerized notices and letters. Processes returned mail, researches <br />address corrections. Researches archived property tax records using microfiche and microfilm <br />records. <br />7.Trains temporary employees to process payments, maintain records and answer basic taxpayer <br />questions. <br />8.Files a variety of documents and forms; disposes of documents according to archive guidelines. <br />9.Maintains and continually updates taxpayer address and mortgage files. <br />10.Enters data into computer system (payments, foreclosures, bankruptcies, refunds, other data); <br />completes forms. Provides backup to the Senior Tax Clerk to import and process the lock box and <br />data exchange files. <br />11.Performs general office duties related to answering phones, typing, making copies, filing, <br />processing and distributing mail, and ordering office supplies. <br />12.Performs other duties as assigned. <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.Graduation from high school, preferably supplemented by courses in general office procedures; <br />AND <br />2.Two (2) years of progressively responsible office experience; including a minimum of one (1) year <br />experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or cashiering; OR <br />3.Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the <br />position. <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITIES <br />Knowledge of: general Oregon property tax regulations and procedures; basic alphabetic and numeric <br />filing systems and accounts classifications; modern office procedures; accounting and bookkeeping <br />practices; and basic cash handling methods and procedures. <br />Skills to: utilize Microsoft Office software; utilize assessment and taxation software applications; utilize <br />standard e-mail systems; operate standard office machines; manage multi-line phones; keyboard at an <br />acceptable rate; make arithmetic calculations of a moderately complex nature; operate a 10-key <br />calculator efficiently; input information and post payments with a high degree of accuracy and speed; <br />balance cash items; and prepare deposits. <br />Ability to: communicate effectively in both oral and written form; establish and maintain effective working <br />relationships with other staff and the public; diffuse angry or disgruntled individuals visiting the office; and <br />provide excellent customer service. <br />ADOPTED: <br />03/82 <br />REVISED: <br />09/91; 01/01; 10/12 <br />MARKET REVIEW: <br />10/12; 10/17 <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/4/2020 <br />
